"Like many in Cedar Rapids we chose to purchase a house in which to raise our family near schools that we trusted.  At the time we had no idea how to go about building trust with an elementary school; they seem to frown on random adults wandering around to 'just get a feel for the place.'  We visited with staff and toured it briefly and purchased a house having a sense of security and warmth we were looking for.

We sent Pierce Elementary two young children after settling in.  From Day 1 we saw a rare blend of expertise and empathy.  When they needed extra support, impressive plans were presented to us and implemented with grace and encouragement.  When they excelled, they were allowed to advance and explore in a space that was adaptable yet challenging.  The staff communicates seamlessly, as evidenced by their coordinated and meaningful efforts and the words directly from their own messages."

"I love volunteering at our Pierce activities: kindergarten round up, Walkathon, STEAM night, literacy/game night, and Family Fun Night. This last Family Fun night I feel we had record turnout from our Pierce families. It was wonderful! When I volunteer, I get to see first-hand the students opening up and getting to just be kids. That is the environment Pierce is always working for. Every student safe, every student seen, every student successful. I am so proud to be a Pierce parent!"

“I believe Pierce is great because it truly feels like my second home. For the past 26 years, I have been proud to be part of the Pierce community, working alongside dedicated staff and amazing families who care deeply about children. Over the years, I have had the privilege of teaching and supporting not only many students, but also several second-generation families, which speaks to the strong connections that make Pierce so special. My own ties to Pierce run even deeper, as all three of my children are proud Pierce Panther alumni. One of the things that sets Pierce apart is the incredible support we receive from our PTA, whose generosity and partnership go far beyond measure. Together, families, staff, and community members work as a team, always focused on what is best for our children. That spirit of collaboration, support, and commitment is why I believe Pierce is such a great place to learn, grow, and belong."
