Pierce students show their books

Pierce teachers and library staff work together to integrate information skills and literature appreciation activities into curriculum instruction. The teacher librarian and classroom teachers plan and teach research activities in the library with library lessons/stories every other week with all students. In addition, we have a Pierce Makerspace available for classroom projects and library lessons.

There are over 10,000 books, magazines, and teaching materials in the Pierce library. Stop by and check out a book!

Check out procedures

Teachers arrange a weekly book exchange time for their classes or schedule small group daily check out. Individual students also have the opportunity to visit the media center to exchange library books daily. Student books may be checked out for two weeks.

Our books need tender loving care going back and forth from home to school. When a book is damaged we can no longer use it in the library. The average cost of replacing a book is $18.
